I have a B.A. in Creative Arts in Therapy with a concentration in visual art. I have worked in the human services field for eight years. I started as an instructor in a 'without walls' after school program for children with disabilities. Currently, I coordinate AIM's in-home residential habilitation and respite services, as well as our family supports and DOH programs. Since the majority of the programs I have been involved with are completely person centered, I am very familiar with the philosophy and methodology of creating a plan. I am new to CSS but am very comfortable creating plans and working within budgets.

Since 2004, worked as Staff Development and Training Coordinator and trained staff to work with people with disabilities.  All of my training has been hands-on and in the field.  Worked with Massena Independent Living Center for one and half years with people with disabilities.  Worked on a Circle of Support for 2 years and was requested to be the support broker for that individual.  Have been to several ISP meetings and learned the process for the plans and how to develop plans.

I have worked doing Residence Habilitation with the same family for the past six years. Most of my knowledge of CSS comes from the hands-on experience of my job. I have also attended Start-Up Broker boot camp and other OMRDD trainings. I have enjoyed seeing people's lives become increasingly meaningful and fulfilling as they are able to direct more and more of their own time. I am eager to support others to do the same.

I have dedicated my personal life to assisting individuals with developmental disabilities in living to their fullest potential. Growing up supporting my brother Michael, who has autism, has given me a strong instinct on how to support people with disabilities. Through this i have learned about the power of strong advocacy and high expectations of both the individual and the system. I graduated from Syracuse University in 1988. I have worked as a residence counselor and job coach, and I have knowledge and experience with both types of CSS plans, Vocational and Residential. I am a strong advocate of the Person-Centered approach to planning and am thrilled with this opportunity help individuals live a more self-determined life.
