I am a special education graduate and a certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I have experience assisting people with cognitive, physical, emotional, and sensory disability, one-on-one, in task analysis, job coaching, functional capacity assessment, vocational counseling, adaptive assessment, paper and pencil assessment, and service coordination with diverse professionals and family members. Person-centered has been a critical personal dedication throughout my employment, which is why I have chosen to be independent of any agency. This provides me with the freedom to focus on the needs of my person without any conflict of interest with an employer and or their funding source.

Since graduating from SUNY College at Old Westbury, I have been employed by the Association for the Help of Retarded Children in the capacity of both, a service coordinator and an administrator. My formal education is a Bachelor of Science in Health and Society. For the past eight years, I committed my life to working with the developmentally disabled population. I have hands on experience from working in the field as a direct care provider and as a Medicaid Service Coordinator at AHRC Nassau where I advocate for quality services for individuals with MR. As a Medicaid Service Coordinator, my role is to assist families with circles of support, develop person-centered plans for services suitable for the individual's needs.

Worked for Long Island Advocacy Center since 2004 as an MSC. Prior to employment at LIAC, volunteered at the Association for Children with Down Syndrome, and developed a computer program course that I taught for 12 years before the dirth of my dauther. I came to CSS because of the birth of my child and felt that Self-Determination was innovative and the wave of the future. Currently, I am a the service coordinator for seven fully funded active CSS Plans. I ahve facilitatd the development of person centered plans, helped develop and support circles and worked to get plans up and running.
