Jigya Report 11/07

Dear SA

We at Jigiya wish you and families a very good day. We are doing well here. Your generous donations continue to allow our membership the opportunity to grow and improve our lives in many ways. Lamine's new baby continues to do well. He is now 4 months old.

We received your 6th donation (137 555FCFA) on September 13th 2007- Thank you very much. We have been partner for a year now and you have already sent us 786 500FCFA.

61 615FCFA have been spent for administrative purpose. The rest, 724 885 FCFA was deposited at the Bank. We are using it to give loans to our members and deal with other types of expenses. Presently we have in our account 223 145FCFA.

The first two groups of borrowers, 14 persons. They paid 57.250FCFA in interest to Jigiya. Now 11 persons are working with a total credit of 220 350FCFA. They are expected to pay interest of 22.000FCFA. No other credit can be lent until they are all paid back. Meanwhile the board has a list of 20 members who would like to apply for a loans totaling 510.000FCFA.

Thanks to SA, Jigiya has been better known in MALI and allover the world. The webcastconference in Bamako on September 7th was a great success. We received congratulations from many persons. We have got a website andwe are on Skype too.

Not long ago nobody would bet that could happen.

We do want to go ahead because we are convinced we can do better with SA. We plan to build a store. We will buy food crops while there are cheap and stock them in our store. That can be a supply for our members in difficult times. Food crops are cheap in harvest time but extremely expensive during the rainy season.

Other Associations of people with disabilities have proposed to u the creation of a federation gathering all types of disabled people in our area. They will pay for transportation so that we can turn around to set up boards in the villages.
We apologize for the delay in delivering this Status Repot to you. We have bee working with Stephen to refine the format of the report. In the future, we plan to give you a Status Report shortly after each of your donations.

Your friends at Jigiya,
Tamba Traore and Passani Diassana
For
Lamine Kamate, President
