Location:  Empire Plaza, Albany, NY, the Legislative Office Building Well, 1st Floor of the LOB, behind the 1st set of elevators.

Program:

From 11 am until 1 pm (or 2 pm depending on speakers) there will have an open mic format with speakers from the board and other self-advocacy leaders who attend.  We will sprinkle in guest speakers and legislators as they arrive--it is just too hard to plan and schedule so this format gives a lot of flexibility. We are hoping for 2-minute speeches about our history, self-advocacy, and testaments to SANYS, the budget process or other critical issues consistent with 

There will be no food available for lunch at the event. We will have lists of the restaurants within the plaza available, all with in walking distance but outside of the security perimeter.  People can bring lunches with them and we encourage that.  
 
We will have a slide show of photos from over the years playing through much of the time.

Visiting Legislators: Feel free to make an appointment to visit legislators directly at 1 pm.
We have invited many legislators to stop by the event. Assemblymen Ortiz and Cusick and Senator McDonald have confirmed and we are sure others will stop by.

Parking

It will be a busy day at the Plaza so get there early if you can to get a parking space.

Attached is a Map of all Parking Lots, which shows the ways under the Plaza Off 787.

Accessible Parking is located in P1 North, which is the 1st entrance (immediate) on the right as you drive under the plaza from the 787 Ramp. P1 North is not shown on the Map.
